The purpose and philosophy of the Blackshear Presbyterian Child Care Center:

The Blackshear Presbyterian Church established the Blackshear Presbyterian Child Care Center as a ministry to the community in 1998. The Center aims to provide an early childhood program of the highest quality to children of working parents regardless of race, creed, or national origin. The Blackshear Presbyterian Child Care Center is operated pursuant to the standards established by the Georgia Department of Human Resources, Bright from the Start.

“We believe supervised, constructive play is a primary vehicle in which children can learn. Our program is designed to allow children to discover and pursue the wonder of learning. We provide a loving, stimulating, and child-centered environment designed to meet the social, emotional, physical, spiritual, and cognitive needs of each child. Each child’s uniqueness is taken into consideration during this approach. It is our desire to promote the security of these feelings along with a respect for the feelings of others.” We recognize that none of the goals of quality childcare can be achieved without the cooperation of staff and parents. Childcare supervisors work very closely with parents to address the special needs of each child. Parents are welcomed visitors in our center. Every effort is made to meet their needs and desires within the guidelines of established philosophies and policies.

Hours of operation are:

Monday thru Friday 6:30 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

The Center is closed on the following holidays:

Good Friday

Memorial Day

July 4th

Labor Day

Thanksgiving Day and the Friday after
